  • Families should register their student for their zoned school. See the attendance area map.
  • Spots for full-time Kindergarten are limited to one class per school.
  • Families applying for full-time Kindergarten will receive a confirmation about their placement in either full-time or part-time Kindergarten in the spring.

Learn more about Full-time Kindergarten in LPSD and review these FAQs.

All LPSD elementary schools will offer one full-time Kindergarten class alongside our part-time program.

No matter which option you choose, your child will learn, grow, and be fully prepared for Grade 1 with engaging, play-based learning and strong foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and social development.

  • Full-time Kindergarten is another option for families who prefer a full-day schedule. With only one full-time class per school, interested families may apply for their zoned school or explore availability at another LPSD school if space allows.
  • Part-time Kindergarten remains a fantastic, well-established program where students thrive. Every child, regardless of program choice, will receive the same essential skills for a strong start in Grade 1.

For the 2025-26 school year, all LPSD schools will offer ONE full-time kindergarten class. They will offer a part-time kindergarten option as well.

Parents and Guardians interested in full-time kindergarten are asked to register at the location closest to their home. If one program is full and space remains at another location, this may be accommodated.

Parents are requested to submit only one registration.

Registration will be primarily filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Parents/Guardians will be notified of their enrolment status in early spring.

If the full-time program is full, their Kindergarten registration application will be applied to part-time Kindergarten.
